New collaboration with the largest island of the Cyclades

The largest island of the Cyclades, Naxos, has joined the network of islands that host Marine Litter Collection Stations, as part of the Aegean Rebreath initiative, implemented with the donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation-SNF.

The upcoming cooperation was confirmed during our visit to Naxos while meeting with the Mayor of Naxos and the Small Cyclades, Dimitris Lianos. During this meeting we had the opportunity to discuss the environmental challenges of the island and the details regarding the installation of the Marine Litter Collection Station. Naxos Island Wildlife Protection Center played a crucial role to this positive development. During our stay in Naxos, we also had the chance to see some of the wetlands of the island and discuss with representatives of the Center about our future actions.

We are extremely happy to welcome Naxos to our network and we are looking forward to our great actions in collaboration with the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades and the Naxos Island Wildlife Protection Center.
