Short Description of Karistos Activity

Our team together with Nautilus Dive Center dive center and with the support of the Municipality of Karistos and Dikelas Dive Center Fishing Store implemented a two days initiative, funded by Helmepa – Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association and Lloyd’s Register Foundation.

All together we managed to remove a significant quantity of marine debris, including abandoned fishing nets covering and smothering reefs and marine life. Despite the bad weather conditions, rough sea and low visibility our initial work was successfully finalized within the fishing harbor of Karistos and in different reef areas.
